GlofBook User Manual
1. Introduction
GlofBook is a Google Chrome browser extension built to automate tee time bookings on Australian golf club websites powered by the MiClub portal.
GlofBook gives you no unfair advantage or speed advantage over other members. It does not bypass queues, it does not jump ahead of other people on the website, and it does not make bookings faster than a standard web browser.
Its sole purpose is convenience: it allows a booking to be submitted automatically while you are doing something else — such as sleeping when a timesheet opens at 6:00 AM, working, or travelling.
When a scheduled timesheet opens, the extension opens a Chrome tab, logs into your golf club member account, navigates to the timesheet, selects your preferred tee time, fills in your group members' names, and submits the booking.
2. Enter Golf Club Details (or Import from CSV)
Before you can schedule a booking, GlofBook needs to know which golf club website you belong to and when that club opens its timesheets.
Adding a Golf Club Manually
- Click the Club Setup tab in the extension dashboard.
- Click the + Add Golf Club button.
- Fill in the fields:
- Club Name: e.g.
Indooroopilly Golf CluborRedcliffe Golf Club. - Portal Login URL: The address of your club's member login page (e.g.
https://www.indooroopillygolf.com.au/security/login.msp). - Location: e.g.

8days prior,7days, or14days).
- Club Name: e.g.
- Click Save Golf Club.
When you save or test a club for the first time, Google Chrome will show a small permission dialog asking:
"GlofBook wants to access: [your club's website URL]".
Click Allow so the extension can log in and view timesheets on that site. Access is only requested for the specific club websites you add.
Testing Club Login
Once saved, click the 🔑 Test Login button on the club card. GlofBook will open a tab and test logging in with your stored credentials so you can verify that the URL and password work properly.
Importing & Exporting Clubs via CSV
If you have multiple clubs or want to transfer club settings to another computer:
- Export CSV: Click Export CSV on the Club Setup tab to download a
golf_clubs.csvfile. - Import CSV: Click Import CSV and select a CSV file. The columns in the CSV file must match this order:
| Column | Header Name | Example Value |

3. Enter Golfer Details (or Import from CSV)
In the Golfers tab, you maintain a directory of players you regularly play with.
Adding a Golfer Manually
- Click the Golfers tab.
- Click + Add Golfer.
- Enter the player's Full Name (e.g.
John Smith) and Gender. - Under Club Memberships & Credentials:
- Select the Club.
- Enter their Member Number / ID (e.g.
1234). - Password: Enter the login password if this golfer is the primary booker (the person whose account logs into the club website to make the booking). Playing partners who do not log in do not need a password entered.
- Click Save Golfer.
Guests
If you play with visitors or non-members, create a golfer profile for them with their name. When booking, the extension will enter them under the club's "Add Guest" section.
Importing & Exporting Golfers via CSV
You can export your golfer directory or import multiple golfers at once using CSV:
- Click Export CSV on the Golfers tab to save your list.
- Click Import CSV to upload. The expected CSV columns are:
| Column | Header Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Name | Golfer's full name (e.g. John Smith) |
| 2 | Gender | Male or Female |
| 3 | Club Name | Name of their club |
| 4 | Member ID | Club membership number (e.g. 1234) |
| 5 | Username | Login username (if different from Member ID) |
| 6 | Password | Login password (required only for primary booker) |
4. Make a Group of Golfers
A Group represents the foursome (or pair / trio / single) you want to place onto the timesheet.
- Click the Groups tab.
- Click + Create New Group.
- Enter a Group Name (e.g. "Saturday Morning 4-Ball").
- Select the Golf Club where this group plays.
- Select the players for each of the 4 slots:
- Player 1 (Primary Booker): This must be the member who logs into the club site. Make sure this player has their club password saved.
- Player 2, 3, 4: Select your playing partners from the dropdown list.
- Booking for fewer than 4 players: If you only want to book for 1, 2, or 3 players, select "None / Empty Slot" in the remaining player dropdowns. GlofBook will only book the players you have selected and leave the other spots open.
- Click Save Group.
5. Create a Scheduled Booking
Once your clubs, golfers, and groups are set up, go to the Booking Schedule tab to create a scheduled booking.
- Select Player Group: Choose the group you want to book for.
- Target Play Date: Choose the date you want to play golf.
- Preferred Tee Time: Enter your ideal tee time (e.g.
07:15). - Slot Selection Strategy:
- Closest within Window (Drift): (Default) If 07:15 is full, GlofBook picks the nearest available time within your chosen window (e.g. within ±30 minutes: 07:08, 07:22, etc.).
- Closest on or after: Picks 07:15 or the next available time after it (useful if nobody in your group can arrive before a certain time).
- Course Selection (for multi-course clubs):
- For clubs with multiple courses (e.g. East / West, or River / Long Pocket), click Fetch Courses for Date.
- GlofBook will query your club's schedule for that specific play date and populate the course list.
- Select your Preferred Course.
- Optionally choose a Fallback Course (if your preferred course is completely booked out, it will try the fallback course before giving up).
- Opening Date & Time: GlofBook automatically calculates the timesheet release date and time based on your club's advance notice days (e.g. 8 days prior at 6:00 AM).
- Click Save Booking Schedule.
Saving a schedule stores it in your list, but it is not yet active. You must arm it in the next step.
6. Arm a Scheduled Booking
Arming tells Chrome to set an internal timer and run the booking automatically when the release time arrives.
- In the Saved Schedules list on the right side of the screen, find your schedule.
- Click the green Arm button.
- The status will change to ARMED.
- Your computer must be turned on and awake. If your computer is turned off, hibernating, or asleep at 6:00 AM, Chrome cannot run. Check your computer's power settings to ensure it does not go to sleep before the release time.
- Google Chrome must be open (or running with background extensions allowed).
- You do not need to keep the GlofBook page open. Chrome's background service worker handles the timing.
What Happens at Release Time
- Approximately 30 seconds before release, the extension wakes up, opens a new browser tab, and logs into your golf club member account.
- If your club uses a virtual waiting room or countdown page, GlofBook waits until the exact opening second.
- At opening time, it navigates to the event timesheet, finds your preferred tee time and course, selects the slot, fills all 4 player names, and confirms the booking.
- A desktop notification appears on your screen confirming whether the booking succeeded or failed.
- Full details are recorded in the Audit Logs tab.
7. Disarming, Editing, and Testing Schedules
Disarming a Schedule
If your plans change and you no longer want the extension to book automatically:
- Find the schedule in the Saved Schedules list.
- Click the yellow Disarm button.
- The status will return to SAVED. The background timer is cleared, and no booking will occur.
Editing a Schedule
- Find the schedule in the list and click Edit.
- The details will load back into the schedule form on the left.
- Make your changes (e.g. choose a different tee time, change courses, or switch the player group).
- Click Update Booking Schedule.
- Important: After updating, click Arm again to set the new timer.
Testing with "Execute Now"
If you want to test the entire booking flow immediately without waiting for a scheduled alarm, click the blue ⚡ Execute Now button on any saved schedule card. GlofBook will immediately open a tab and attempt to navigate to that timesheet.
Deleting a Schedule
Click the red Delete button to permanently remove a schedule from your list.
8. Other Notes & Troubleshooting
1. Computer Sleep & Power Settings
This is the most common reason a booking fails to trigger: Chrome cannot execute when a computer enters power-saving sleep.
- Windows: Go to Settings → System → Power & sleep and set "When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after" to Never (or adjust your sleep timer so it stays on through the morning release).
- Mac: In System Settings → Energy Saver / Displays, enable "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off".
2. Privacy & Security
GlofBook has no external servers, no cloud storage, and no tracking.
- All passwords, member IDs, and golfer names are stored locally on your own machine in Chrome's encrypted local storage (
chrome.storage.local). - Communication occurs strictly between your computer's browser and your golf club's official website over encrypted HTTPS.
- Uninstalling the extension from Chrome deletes all stored credentials and profiles permanently.
- Review the complete GlofBook Privacy Policy for full compliance details.
3. Emergency Stop
If an automated booking is currently running and you want to stop it immediately:
- Click the red 🛑 Stop Automation button in the top banner of the GlofBook dashboard.
- This immediately halts all background scripts, cancels all armed alarms, and closes the automation tab.
4. Audit Logs
If a booking did not succeed, click the Audit Logs tab to see a step-by-step log of what happened:
- Logs show when Chrome woke up, whether login succeeded, which tee slots were inspected, and any error message returned by your golf club's website.
- You can search logs by date or level (INFO, WARN, SUCCESS, ERROR).
- You can export your logs to CSV or clear them using Clear All Logs.
5. Multiple Clubs and Timezones
If you belong to clubs in different states (for example, Queensland and New South Wales), GlofBook handles daylight saving differences automatically based on each club's configured timezone.
